Woodfired Vessel

$160.00

Wheel-thrown stoneware woodfired vessel. For wild flowers and wild people, these statement pieces were made to inspirit and adorn your space.

Fired with a blue-grey glaze resulting in some incredible color flashing. Tones of smoke, mineral blue, and umber. Two little decorative handles for some style. No two exactly alike :)

This vessel measures approximately 5” tall.

The WOOD FIRED COLLECTION is comprised of work fired in the anagama outside of Missoula, Montana, in June 2024. Wood firing is a dynamic process that involves firing glazed pots strictly with wood heat, continuously, over a period of 7-10 days. It requires weeks of wood prep, loading, and then constant community fire tending to finish a batch of work. Some of these pots are glazed and some are unglazed, all of them finished and made unique by a combination of environmental factors: where they were in the kiln in relation to the fire, how heat and smoke moved through the stacks, and where wood ash may have settled onto the pieces to create surface pattern. These are special works, a departure from the consistency of our core offerings, and no two can ever be the same! It’s why we love the process so much.

Omo Ceramics are thrown and trimmed on a wheel by hand, by one person. We use nontoxic materials, always. Pots are dishwasher safe, but we recommend hand-washing with warm soapy water and drying on a stable rack. This will make for happy, long-living dishes.
